Fishing Our Favourite Venues

Willow Park, Aldershot

Latest News

As I mentioned in the introduction to Willow Park, the fishery has been sold to 'Tosh' White, John Raison's brother in law / son in law (delete as applicable, I can't remember what relation Tosh is to John, but there's definitely a connection there somewhere). Every indication is that nothing will change for the worse, Kenny and Steve will still run the fishery, which is just fine by us.

Willow Park is hosting some of this years Polemania 2000 matches, where they are hoping for a £5,000 payout to the winner. The dates and full details, plus reports, pictures and qualifiers of the
matches already fished are on the Polemania 2000 web site.

10th July 2000 - Improvements and a new lake record

Tosh has been spending his ill gotten Pokemon gains on doing lots of good improvements to the fishery. Renovated toilets, a new shower for long stay guests, lots of new platforms, and tons and tons of shingle in the car parks. The local residents must love the noise as cars drive over that shingle....it's deafening.

It's great to see Kenny and Maria looking so well.

Will Raison (who else !!) has broken the match record on Middle Lake with a weight of 88 lbs. He's on a different planet to us mere mortals.

23rd July 2000 - More Huge Weights

With a cold Easterly wind blowing, all of the fish in the big lake seemed to move to the deep water on the bungalow bank, with Mark Hathway winning a Leatherhead club match with a weight of 110 lbs, mostly tench with some bream and two carp. All were caught on the pole, fishing 18" deep in a 9 ft deep swim, loose feeding casters and fishing red maggot on the hook. I know all of these details because I was in the next swim !!.

The new platforms that have been built on the lakes are superb. There is so much going on at Willow Park these days. You've just got to get along there and take a look for yourself.
