One
of the country's premier match fishing waters, this complex is a carp fishing
heaven. 100 lb match catches in 5 hour contests are common, who knows what the
mid-week carp anglers catch. The fishery
has a total of 180 swims over 5 lakes (see site
plan for details), plus
a superb club house and a well stocked fishing tackle shop. All swims are easily
accessible from the footpaths leading round all of the lakes.
Although
best known for its match catches, the carp fishing on the lakes is second to
none, and the carp have grown at a fantastic rate since being stocked at about
1lb in the early 1990's. Fish to
20 lb are now caught in each of the three big lakes, and the average size of
the fish must now be around 5 lbs.
